Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Fast Start Lifts Towson past UNCW, 76-60

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team sprinted out of the starting blocks with Usain Bolt-like speed, survived a second-half rally and had three players reach double-figures during a solid 76-60 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) victory over UNCW at SECU Arena Thursday night.

Towson's terrific triumvirate of William Adala Moto, Mike Morsell and Byron Hawkins combined for 53 points to help the Tigers permanently purge memories of last Saturday's loss to Hofstra. While they were the headliners, Timajh Parker-Rivera, Alex Thomas, Eddie Keith II, John Davis, Josh Ivory and Walter Foster all made significant contributions during the Tigers (11-5 overall, 2-1 CAA) seventh home win of the season.

"I am proud of our players and coaches tonight," Towson head coach Pat Skerry said. "There were a lot of great in-game adjustments that were made tonight, which helped us. I was happy with our response and we got back to playing Towson basketball tonight."

Quotable
Adala-Moto on his mentality
"Coach did a great job of scouting them. We knew they were going to press and try to steal the ball. We had to take care of the ball and be aggressive attacking the rim. So I was focused on attacking the rim, finishing strong and making my foul shots."

Hawkins on rebounding from Saturday's setback
"Everybody was aware that we didn't play well at all last week (against Hofstra) and the score showed that. We knew had to play with a sense of urgency tonight. Coach kept stressing to us all week our mentality. He said that whatever mentality you bring to the game and that's what the results are going to be."
