AKRON, OHIO – The Towson indoor track and field team had five student-athletes in action on day one of the Akron Invitational. Senior Maggie Rampolla led the Tiger effort, finishing fifth in the pole vault.

HOW IT HAPPENED (TRACK EVENTS)

• In the 5000m run, Abby Gauthier finished 11th with a time of 18:48.48 in her collegiate debut for the event. Hannah Walter followed in 12th-place, timing 18:48.51. Both times were personal bests.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED (FIELD EVENTS)

• Maggie Rampolla placed fifth for pole vault with a height of 3.51m (11'6.25"). Brynn Warrington and Courtney Rose tied for 10th-place with matching heights of 3.36m (11'0.25").

 
The Akron Invitational concludes tomorrow with the morning session at 10 a.m. The afternoon session kicks off at 3 p.m.
