Tigers Continue With Day Two Of CCI, Divers At JMU Diving Invite

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Towson swimming program continued action with day two of the Carolina Collegiate Invitational, hosted by UNC. The Tiger divers were in action at the JMU Diving Invitational, led by freshmen Emily Wilson and Jake Casey.

HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN'S SWIMMING)
  • Grace Hansen finished fifth in the 400-yard individual medley finals, timing 4:30.49. Tasha Reidenbach and Cami Andreini also qualified for the event finals, finishing seventh (4:34.73) and eighth (4:36.66), respectively.
  • In the finals for the 100-yard butterfly, Emily Rezac placed 16th with a time of 58.58.
  • Three Tigers qualified for the 200-yard freestyle finals, led by Danielle Clark who placed 11th overall (1:54.08). Rhyann Lowrey finished 13th (1:54.85) and Zeynep Balto placed 16th (1:56.81).
  • Ali Holm finished 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke finals, timing 1:08.99.
  • Haley Sutton placed seventh in the 100-yard backstroke finals (57.89). Rezac was also in action in that event finals, finishing 10th (1:00.04),
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN'S SWIMMING)
  • Aaron Magazine finished 13th overall in the 200-yard freestyle finals with a time of 1:45.26.
  • Sean Patterson impressed in the 100-yard backstroke finals, timing t 55.20 for an eighth-place finish.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN'S DIVING)
  • Emily Wilson finished 14th in the one-meter event with a score of 228.85. She was followed by Victoria Zozzaro in 15th-place (219.80). Kelsey Jehl finished 20th (207.05) while Hannah Ostrem placed 22nd (171.80) and Emilee Torres in 23rd-place (168.35).
  • Wilson led the Tiger effort in the three-meter event, scoring 224.55 for a 15th-place finish. The Tigers swept 19th through 22nd-place for the event. Kelsey Jehl finished in 19th-place (197.45), followed by Zozzaro (195.45), Hannah Ostrem (191.50) and Emilee Torres (184.40).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN'S DIVING)
  • Jake Casey finished in 10th-place for both the one-meter (136.80) and three-meter (138.55) diving events.
 
The Tigers conclude the three-day Carolina Collegiate Invitational tomorrow with the morning preliminaries session at 10 a.m. Finals will begin at 6 p.m.
