SWEET 16: Towson Conquers Portland State To Improve To 16-4

MORAGA, Calif. – Bailey Boyd and Daria Edwards provided the snap, crackle and pop for the Towson University softball team during its 5-1 victory over Portland State in the second game of the Saint Mary's Tournament at Cotrell Field Saturday afternoon.
 
How It Happened
  • Towson collected 10 hits to raise its record to 16-4, the second best after 20 games in program history.
  • Eight different players had at least one hit.
  • Edwards and Shelby Stracher paced Towson's offense with two hits each.
  • Boyd got Towson on the scoreboard first by leading off the top of the fourth inning with her fourth home run of the season.
  • Edwards slammed a two-out, two-run homer to extend Towson's lead to 3-0 in the fourth inning.
  • Kendyl Scott added a two-run single in the fifth inning to give Towson a 5-0 bulge.
  • Megan Dejter allowed six hits in tossing a complete game.
