TOWSON, Md. – The Towson softball team used two three-run homers early in the game to defeat Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Hofstra on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers took the conference series from the Pride, winning two of the three weekend matchups.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Towson got on the board early with two three-run homers in the first two frames.
- The Tigers used two walks to start off the bottom of the first before a sacrifice bunt by Shelby Stracher moved Olivia Yarbrough and Daria Edwards to scoring position. Holiday Cahill smashed one to left field to give the Tigers an early 3-0 lead.
- Hofstra's Brielle Pietrafesa led off the second inning with a solo home run to center field.
- Stracher followed with her own three-run blast to left field in the bottom of the second. She drove in Kendyl Scott who had doubled and Kaylen Minnatee who reached first on a hit by pitch.
- The Tigers took a 6-1 lead into the seventh inning as Megan Dejter replaced Blakely Thrower on the mound. Thrower allowed eight hits while only giving up the home run in the second. She recorded her sixth win of the season with today's victory.
- The Pride used three walks to load the bases with one out. Madison Ambush smacked a grand slam to just inside the left field post to bring Hofstra within one run.
- Ambar Hickman replaced Dejter on the mound for the Tigers to get the final two outs and earn her second save of the season.
- Jessica Peslack pitched all 6.0 innings for the Pride, giving up six runs on five hits and striking out six batters.
