TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's tennis team had an impressive day, defeating UMES and Coppin State by 7-0 scores on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers improved to 12-8 on the season with the pair of wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED (UMES)

• The Tigers earned a sweeping 7-0 victory over the Hawks in the first match of the day.
• Towson opened the match with 6-0 wins at the top two singles spots. The Tigers swept the opening doubles match as the final matchup was one by default.
• The Tigers continued their strong performance, winning four of the six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. The final two singles matches were won by default.
• Lucy Gloninger impressed in her first collegiate matchup at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED (COPPIN STATE)

• Towson earned another strong win in the day's second match, defeating the Eagles 7-0.
• In the No. 1 doubles spot, Renate van Oorschodt and A.J. Gomer posted a 6-1 victory against Coppin State's Ashley Milo and Carentxa Goede.
• At No. 2 doubles, Lucy Williams and Barbora Vasilkova earned a perfect 6-0 win over Miranda Taylor and Precious Udofe.
• Towson swept the doubles point with the final doubles matchup being awarded to the Tigers via default.
• All five of the Tigers' singles wins came in straight sets while the final singles matchup was won by default.
• At No. 3 singles, van Oorschodt posted a 6-0, 6-0 score over Tanna Nita.
• The final four singles matchups were all won by 6-1, 6-0 scores.

Towson hosts Bucknell on Sunday, April 17 at 9 a.m. on the Towson Center Courts to close out the regular season.
