MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Towson softball team split a pair of games with Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon at the Patriots Point Athletics Complex. The Cougars won the first game 6-1 while the Tigers responded with a 3-2 win in the day's final game.

HOW IT HAPPEPEND (GAME ONE)- The Cougars took an early lead, scoring five runs on four hits and one Tiger error in the second inning.
- Towson got its first hit of the game on a single bunt by Olivia Yarbrough in the fourth but the Tigers were unable to capitalize.
- Charleston added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Taylor Dupree singled before moving to second as Rebecca Mueller was hit by a pitch. The pair advanced on stolen bases before Dupree scored on a single by Valerie Cassell.
- Towson got things going in the sixth inning as Nicole Stockinger led off with a walk. A single by Kendyl Scott and a pair of stolen bases by the base runners put two in scoring position with no outs. A ground out by Shelby Stracher scored Stockinger to give the Tigers their first run of the day.
- Megan Dejter gave up six runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.0 innings pitched.
- Samantha Martin gave up just one hit over 5.0 innings to get the win. Cassell allowed one run on one hit in the final 2.0 innings pitched.
HOW IT HAPPPENED (GAME TWO)- Scott got the Tigers on the board early as a single to centerfield by Brook Mike scored Scott from third base.
- The Cougars threatened early, loading the bases with one out in the bottom of the third inning but were unable to capitalize.
- Charleston took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth. The Cougars scored two runs on three hits and three stolen bases, including Dupree stealing home for the Cougar's second run.
- Towson responded with a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Scott led off the inning with a single before advancing on a sacrifice bunt. After a walk to Stracher, Scott moved to third base as Miko was hit by a pitch. A single by Holiday Cahill scored Scott and moved Jessica South, who came in to pinch run for Stracher, to third base. Daria Edwards smacked a sacrifice fly to left field to bring home South.
- Ambar Hickman allowed just two runs on seven hits and two walks to get the win. She struck out two batters while tossing 66 strikes for her eighth complete game of the season.
- Sydney Shipley gave up three runs on four hits over 5.1 innings pitched. Cassell, who came in on relief action, allowed just one hit in the final 1.2 innings.
