TOWSON, Md. – The Towson women's tennis team returns home to close the regular season with a four-match home stand. The Tigers host Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Delaware in its final conference matchup of the season on Friday, April 8 at 2 p.m. The match, held on the newly renovated Towson Center Courts, will be the Tigers' first outdoor home match of the season.
Towson is coming off a close 4-3 victory over conference foe Drexel on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers bounced back after dropping the match's opening doubles point to win four of the six singles matchups. Sophomore
Barbora Vasilkova posted a third set comeback victory at the No. 3 singles spot to secure the win for the Tigers. Vasilkova fought back after being down 5-2 in the final third set, saving two match points to ultimately win the match by a score of 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Delaware enters this weekend looking for its first CAA win. The Blue Hens are 8-6 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. Delaware dropped a 6-1 decision to conference member UNCW last time out. Freshman Draga Sabotic gave the Blue Hens' their lone point, winning 6-1, 6-4 in singles play.
Towson will be in action twice on Sunday, April 10, welcoming UMES at 11:30 a.m. and Coppin State at 2 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Towson Center Courts.
