One Last In-Season Tournament: The Tigers wrap up their in-season tournament run by heading south to Macon, Georgia to take part in the Mercer Tournament. Towson will battle USC-Upstate and Mercer on Friday. The Tigers then close out the tournament by facing Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. Fans attending Saturday's match should be aware it will cost $10 to park on Mercer's campus due to other events taking place. Friday's matches will have free parking. Follow

Looking at the Tigers: Towson went 3-0 to capture the Georgetown Classic last weekend. Senior
Jessica Lewis was named the tournament MVP while sophomore
Jocelyn Kuilan and redshirt sophomore
Anna Holehouse joined her on the all-tournament team. Lewis leads the team with 151 kills and a .370 hitting percentage. Freshman
Marrisa Wonders has dished out a team-best 204 assists with eight service aces. Holehouse has a team-high 139 digs while redshirt senior
Candace Steadman leads the way with 29 blocks.
Scouting the Opponents: USC-Upstate is 5-7 on the year and enters the tournament looking to build on the momentum of a 3-2 win over Charlotte on Tuesday night.
Emily Koelling leads the Spartans with 111 kills and 34 blocks while
Madison Haake has 372 assists. Mercer has won two straight matches and enters the weekend's action with a 5-4 record.
Paige Alsten leads the Bears' defensive efforts with 41 blocks while
Tori Penrod has 168 digs. Fairleigh Dickinson comes into the weekend with an 0-11 record. The Knights are led by
Rebecca Sabol who has 85 kills and
Caroline Laton has 40 blocks.
Series History: Friday's contest will be the first ever meeting between the Tigers and USC-Upstate. Friday's nightcap will be the second meeting all-time between the Tigers and Bears. Mercer won the first meeting during the 1997 season at the Florida Atlantic Classic. Fairleigh Dickinson and the Tigers will be meeting for the 12th time on Saturday, and the first time since 2009. The Knights hold a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series.
I'm Honored: For the second time this season, senior
Jessica Lewis claimed Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week accolades. She led the squad with 57 kills, a .308 hitting percentage, 30 digs, eight blocks and two service aces at the Georgetown Classic. Lewis was named the tournament MVP for her efforts.
300 and Counting: Towson head coach
Don Metil earned his 300th win as the Tigers beat Princeton to open the Georgetown Classic. Metil now has a record of 302-166 in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach. He is also 72-37 in the midst of his fourth season at Towson.
Seeing Double: Freshman
Marrisa Wonders powered the Tigers with three straight double-doubles last weekend at Georgetown. Wonders had 20 assists and 12 digs against Princeton and 29 assists and 10 digs versus Georgetown. She wrapped up the weekend with 33 assists and 13 digs in the win over Maryland. Wonders has now posted a double-double in four straight matches (dating back to the Seton Hall Tournament) and now has five double-doubles on the year.
Do It In Three: So far this season, the Tigers are 7-0 when they can wrap up a match in just three sets. Dating back to the start of the 2014 season, the Tigers are 34-1 when the match is finished in just three sets.
Hot Starts: For the third straight season, the Tigers have started the season 9-1. It is the second best start to a season in program history. The 2010 squad started the season 10-0, which is the best start in program history.
Up Next: The Tigers finally play their home opener on Sept. 20 when they hosts VCU at 6 p.m. The Tigers then hit the road to open CAA play at Delaware on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
