The two sides have not faced each other since the 2010 season when Towson claimed a four set home victory. Maryland holds an 11-3-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Tigers. I'm Honored: Senior
Jessica Lewis and sophomore
Jocelyn Kuilan were named to the All-Tournament team at the Seton Hall Tournament. Lewis led the Tigers with 43 kills, 38 digs, a .311 hitting percentage, five service aces and six blocks in the three matches combined. She had a season-high 23 kills against Seton Hall and posted her first two double-doubles of the year. Kuilan finished the weekend with 36 kills, a .325 hitting percentage, 16 digs and four service aces.
Milestones Approaching: Towson head coach
Don Metil enters the season's third weekend with a coaching milestone within reach. Metil needs just one more win to reach 300 career victories in 15 seasons on the collegiate bench. The Tiger leader also needs just six victories to record his 75th win in four seasons on the Towson sidelines.
Seeing Double: The Tigers saw their first double-doubles of the season posted during the Seton Hall Tournament. Freshman
Marrisa Wonders and senior
Jessica Lewis each posted a pair of double-doubles during the weekend while sophomore
Carola Biver had one. Wonders and Biver each had the first double-doubles of their career while Lewis posted her ninth and 10th double-doubles as a Tiger. The trio all posted double-doubles in the Seton Hall match. It was the first time since last year in the CAA Tournament when Lewis,
Kyana Miller and
Haley Pa'akaula did so.
Up Next: The Tigers wrap up their 13 match road trip to start the season next weekend as they head south to Macon, Georgia to take part in the Mercer Tournament. Towson will face the host Bears, USC-Upstate and Fairleigh Dickinson during the weekend action. Towson will finally play its home opener on Sept. 20 when it hosts VCU at 6 p.m.
