TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming and diving program defeated Bowling Green University, 182-118 on Saturday afternoon. The meet, held at Burdick Pool, served as the Tigers' Senior Day meet.
 
Towson won nine events and posted 31 top-three finishes to earn its 22^nd straight dual meet win inside Burdick Pool.
 
How it Happened

• The meet opened with diving as Emily Wilson took third-place in the one-meter dive (284.78). Victoria Zozzaro placed fifth with 243.15 points.
• Wilson was also the runner-up in the three-meter dive with a score of 279.45. Zozzaro once again finished fifth (241.13).
• The swimming portion of the meet began with the 200-yard medley relay. The relay team of Jacy Icard, Kalyn Fetter, Kendall Krumenacker and Caitlin Manthe won the event in 1:45.92. The Tiger 'B' relay of Maddi Mangum, Amanda Rosa, Olivia Evans and Annemarie Schnoor took third (1:48.85).
• Towson swept the top three spots in the 1000-yard freestyle, led by Meghan Jones in 10:18.79. Corie Morton followed in second-place (10:21.28) and Danielle Clark in third-place (10:25. 87).
• Melissa Toy won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.18. Sarah-Margaret Locke placed third (1:55.58) while Rachel Hoban finished fourth (1:58.71).
• Icard timed 59.00 to win the 100-yard backstroke, while Evans placed fourth (59.37).
• Rosa was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke, timing 1:07.37. Kalyn Fetter placed third (1:08.45) and Jacalyn Schoening took fourth (1:08.52).
• Towson swept second through fifth for the 200-yard butterfly. Megan Cowen timed 2:09.34 to finish as the runner-up. Ashley Illenye placed third (2:11.53), Tasha Reidenbach fourth (2:13.35) and Cami Andreini fifth (2:13.80).
• Manthe was the winner in the 50-yard freestyle (24.25), followed by Toy in second-place (24.52). Schnoor finished fourth with a time of 24.76.
• The 100-yard freestyle was won by Toy in 52.66. Manthe was the runner-up (52.77) and Schnoor placed third (52.91).
• Towson also swept the 200-yard backstroke. Icard timed 2:02.71 to win the event, while Krumenacker placed second (2:05.64) and Haley Sutton took third (2:08.66).
• Rosa was the runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke, timing 2:26.76. She was followed by Schoening in third-place (2:29.32). Fetter finished fifth for the event in 2:31.34.
• The Tigers impressed in the 500-yard freestyle, led by Jones who won the event in 5:04.27. Clark was the runner-up (5:06.79) and Morton placed third (5:07.61).
• Evans finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (58.32) while Mangum placed third (58.81) and Cowan fourth (1:00.12).
• Illenye was the runner-up in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:36.12. Reidenbach finished third, timing 4:36.59.
• The 200-yard freestyle relay capped the meet as the relay team of Manthe, Toy, Icard and Krumenacker won in 1:36.70. The 'B' relay of Ryan Ulrich, Sutton, Clark and Schnoor finished third (1:41.49).

 
Behind the Times

• Towson has now won 22 straight dual meets inside Burdick Pool. The Tigers' last loss inside the friendly confines of Burdick Pool came on Jan. 7, 2012 against Maryland.
• First place finishes have been key to the Tigers' success this season. With the nine events wins today, the Tigers have totaled 48 event victories this season. Towson recorded 31 top-three finishes against Bowling Green. This season, the Tigers have 158 top-three finishes.

The Tigers will face a pair of in-state rivals when they travel to Navy for a tri-meet with Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, Jan. 25. The meet, which will be held at Lejeune Hall, is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
