HARRISONBURG, Va. – Guards
Raven Bankston and
Sianni Martin combined to score 21 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Towson University women's basketball team to a 60-55 win at James Madison University on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play. The Tigers, who trailed by nine with 5:25 to play, earned their first ever win in Harrisonburg with the comeback.
The Tigers (11-7, 4-3 CAA) have now won three straight games. Towson's sweep marked the first time the Dukes have lost two CAA games and have been swept in a CAA series since the 2012-13 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After James Madison scored the first basket of the game, Towson used a 12-2 run to take a 12-4 lead with 4:59 showing on the clock. Bankston had five points during that stretch.
- A pair of free throws from Bankston with 1:03 to go in the stanza gave the Tigers a 16-8 lead.
- James Madison scored the final five points of the period but the visitors led 16-13 after one.
- The Dukes opened the second quarter on a 14-0 run and led 27-16 with 4:51 to go in the stanza. Precious Hall had a pair of buckets during that stretch.
- Towson closed the second quarter on a 7-2 run and trailed by just six at the half, 29-23. Senior forward Brianna Bush scored four points for the Tigers during that stretch.
- The Tigers opened the third quarter on a 6-2 run and pulled to within two, 31-29 with 5:06 left on the clock. Bankston had four of the Tigers' six during that stretch.
- James Madison scored 11 of the final 17 points in the quarter and led 42-35 after three periods of play. Hall had five points for the Dukes during that stretch.
- The Dukes scored eight of the first 14 points and led 50-41 with 7:10 showing on the clock. Hall drained a pair of three-pointers during that stretch.
- Towson cut it to seven on a bucket from Bankston before an Aneah Young connected on a lay-up with 5:25 to play which gave the Dukes a 52-43 lead.
- However Young's basket was the last points by James Madison until Hall hit a triple with five seconds to play.
- During that time, Towson went on a 12-0 run and took a 58-52 lead. Bankston had five big points during that run while junior center Daijha Thomas went 3-for-4 from the foul line in a crucial situation and pulled down a big rebound.
- After Hall's three-pointer pulled James Madison to within three, Bankston sank both shots from the foul line to seal the 60-55 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Towson gave Tiger head coach Niki Reid Geckeler a big win on her birthday.
- The win over the Dukes was just the fifth all-time for the Tigers and two of them have come this season.
- Towson shot 42.6 percent from the field and knocked down seven three-pointers. It was the most threes the Tigers have hit since they had eight at Colgate in early December.
- The Tigers held James Madison to a 31.1 field goal percentage in the game.
- Bankston finished with a game-high 26 points, including 12 during the fourth quarter comeback. She also added six rebounds.
- Martin had 16 points, five rebounds and three steals for the Tigers. Junior forward Mary Cuevas led Towson on the boards with seven.
- Hall led James Madison with 20 points while Young added 10.
The Tigers remain on the road as they visit UNCW on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.
