HOW IT HAPPENED
- Towson took a 9-8 lead in the first quarter on Raven Bankston's lay-up with 5:25 showing on the clock.
- UNCW used a 7-0 run to take a 15-9 advantage with 1:49 to go in the quarter. The Seahawks got a three from Madison Raque during that stretch.
- The Tigers used baskets from junior forward Mary Cuevas and redshirt sophomore center Maia Lee to pull to within two, 15-13 at the end of one.
- The Seahawks scored nine of the first 15 points in the second quarter and led 24-19 with 4:59 to go in the stanza. The run featured another triple from Raque for the Seahawks.
- Towson closed the period on an 11-4 run and held a 30-28 lead at the break.
- Junior center Daijha Thomas connected on a jumper with 20 seconds left on the clock which gave Towson the edge.
- A pair of three-pointers from Timber Tate put UNCW ahead 36-32 with 5:36 to go in the third quarter.
- The Tigers (11-8, 4-4 CAA) used a 6-0 run to take a 38-36 lead with 3:13 left in the period.
- The Seahawks scored seven of the final nine points in the quarter and took a 43-40 lead after three periods of action. Tate hit her third triple of the period for UNCW during that stretch.
- The Seahawks opened the fourth quarter on a 6-2 run and led 49-42 with 7:34 to play in the game. Jasmine Steele had four of UNCW's six during that stretch.
- Towson responded with a 7-0 run of its own and tied the game at 49-49 with 6:01 showing on the clock. Freshman guard Nukiya Mayo hit a triple for the Tigers during that stretch.
- UNCW pushed its lead back to four, 53-49 with 3:36 to play.
- Towson got a free throw from Raven Bankston and a big three-pointer from redshirt junior guard Raine Bankston and the game was tied at 53-53 with 2:02 to play.
- The two teams traded baskets as sophomore guard Sianni Martin's three-pointer with 1:07 left on the clock gave Towson a 56-55 edge.
- Raque went 1-for-2 from the foul line with 45 seconds to play and tied the game at 56-56.
- After a miss by the Tigers, UNCW brought the ball down the court and Reeves made the three-pointer with one second left on the clock which gave the Seahawks the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Towson got a game-high 14 points and five assists from Raven Bankston while Martin added 11 points. Lee led the Tigers on the boards with seven and added eight points.
- The loss snapped the Tigers' three-game win streak.
- Steele led UNCW with 12 points and six assists while Reeves and Raque each had 11 points.
- UNCW shot 49 percent from the floor in the game while the Tigers shot 40 percent. Each team made six three-pointers in the game.
- Towson won the rebounding battle, 33-29. Eight Tigers grabbed at least two rebounds in the game.
The Tigers return home to host Delaware on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. It will be the Tigers' Special Olympics Day and all Special Olympic athletes and their families can receive complimentary tickets to the game. .
