Towson Has A Little Extra To Get Past Charleston In OT Classic

TOWSON, Md. -- A team's true character is shown during adverse moments.

The Towson University men's basketball team endured plenty of tough times during its memorable 83-77 overtime victory over the College of Charleston in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) masterpiece at SECU Arena Thursday.

Instead of cracking, the Tigers battled back not once, but twice from the dead to earn a thrilling victory over the Cougars to extend their season best winning streak to five games.

Towson placed four players in double figures led by the senior tandem of Arnaud William Adala Moto (20 points, nine rebounds) and John Davis (18, nine).

Deshaun Morman added 16 points and Brian Starr contributed 13 points for the Tigers. Starr made what head coach Pat Skerry called "the shot of the season" – a corner 3-pointer from in front of the Towson bench to give Towson a 71-70 lead with 21 seconds remaining. His shot touched off a euphoric eruption from everybody inside of the arena.
