TOWSON, Md. -- A team's true character is shown during adverse moments.
Â
The Towson University men's basketball team endured plenty of tough times during its memorable 83-77 overtime victory over the College of Charleston in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) masterpiece at SECU Arena Thursday.
Â
Instead of cracking, the Tigers battled back not once, but twice from the dead to earn a thrilling victory over the Cougars to extend their season best winning streak to five games.
Â
Towson placed four players in double figures led by the senior tandem of
Arnaud William Adala Moto (20 points, nine rebounds) and
John Davis (18, nine).
Â
Deshaun Morman added 16 points and
Brian Starr contributed 13 points for the Tigers. Starr made what head coach
Pat Skerry called "the shot of the season" – a corner 3-pointer from in front of the Towson bench to give Towson a 71-70 lead with 21 seconds remaining. His shot touched off a euphoric eruption from everybody inside of the arena.
