I'm Honored: Towson senior
Julymar Otero was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Otero finished with a combined 20 kills, 53 assists and 28 digs while leading the Tigers to road wins at Delaware and James Madison. In the win at Delaware, Otero finished with eight kills, 25 assists and 14 digs. During Sunday's win at James Madison, Otero posted her CAA leading third triple-double of the season. Aces are a Girls' Best Friend: Towson turned in another strong performance from the service line against Delaware. The Tigers finished with 13 service aces as
Silvia Grassini led the way with six. It was the most service aces by a Towson squad since the Tigers had 13 against Canisius on September 2 of last year. Towson has recorded double-digit service aces 11 times under head coach
Don Metil and has posted a 9-2 record in those matches (since the start of the 2013 season).
Sweet Swings: Towson sophomore
Silvia Grassini continues to swing well at the net. Grassini had 12 kills and hit .556 in Sunday's win over James Madison. It was the third time this season that Grassini has posted at least 10 kills and hit better than .500 in a match. Entering play this weekend Grassini ranked second in the CAA and 29th nationally with a .393 hitting percentage. In CAA-only matches this season Grassini is hitting a league best .491.
Up Next: Following this weekend's action the Tigers hit the road for the final time during the regular season. Towson visits Hofstra on October 27 and Northeastern on October 29. The Tigers will then play their final four regular season matches inside SECU Arena.
