How it Happened
- Mary Cuevas scored the game's opening basket to put the Tigers on the board with 9:39 left in the first quarter. UNCW responded with a 10-0 run over four minutes, highlighted by a pair of three-pointers by Timber Tate.
- A pair of made free throws by Shanea Butler and pair of layups by Sianni Martin cut the Seahawks' lead to two, 10-8, at the end of the first quarter.
- UNCW opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run as Jenny DeGraaf sank a pair of jumpers. Towson used back-to-back layups by Maia Lee and Raine Bankston to close UNCW's lead to five, 17-12, with 4:30 left in the first half. The Seakhawks used six straight baskets to increase their lead to 23-12 with 1:18 left.
- The Tigers got a made free throw by Mary Cuevas and a three-pointer from Nukiya Mayo in the final 52 seconds of the first half to close out the first half. UNCW held a 23-16 lead after the first 20 minutes of play.
- Towson used a 7-2 run to open the third quarter and bring UNCW's lead within two, 25-23. Raven Bankston had a layup and three-pointer during that span.
- The Tigers and Seahawks traded foul shots before UNCW broke out on an 8-0 run over two minutes, highlighted by a pair of three-pointers.
- Shanea Butler connected on a jumper with 31 seconds remaining in the period to end a five minute scoring drought for the Tigers.
- Towson and UNCW traded baskets to open the fourth quarter. A layup by Raven Bankston brought the game within one point, 42-41, with 2:09 remaining. UNCW's Jasmine Steele connected on a jumper to increase the Seahawk's lead back to three with 1:41 left on the clock.
- Sianni Martin went to the line with 10 seconds left thanks to a foul by Jasmine Steele. The sophomore missed her first shot but sank the second to bring the score within two, 44-42.
- UNCW closed out the win as Jenny DeGraaf went 4-4 from the foul line in the game's final seconds.

Beyond the Boxscore
- Towson got a game-high 12 points from Raven Bankston and Sianni Martin. Bankston added three assists, two steals and a rebound to her stat line.
- The Tigers won the rebounding battle, 33-30. Sianni Martin had a team-high eight rebounds and seven Tigers grabbed at least two rebounds in the game.
- Madison Raque and Jenny DeGraaf led UNCW with 13 points each.
- UNCW shot 41 percent from the floor while the Tigers shot 31 percent. UNCW connected on seven three-pointers to Towson's three in the game.
