HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tribe opened the game on an 11-5 run as Jeanne Gaumont converted a three-point play at 4:46. Jenna Green had half of the William & Mary points during that early scoring stretch.
- Towson scored 10 of the final 15 points in the quarter and found itself trailing by one, 16-15 after 10 minutes of action.
- Â Cuevas went 3-for-4 from the foul line for the Tigers during that stretch.
- The Tribe opened the second quarter on an 8-3 run and led by six, 24-18 with 6:51 to go in the stanza. Abby Rendle had five points for William & Mary during that stretch.
- Towson responded with a 5-0 run of its own and cut its deficit to one, 24-23 with 4:09 left on the clock. Junior guard Shanae Butler and sophomore guard Sianni Martin each hit two shots from the foul line during that scoring spurt.
- William & Mary pushed its lead back to six, 29-23 on a triple from Latrice Hunter with 3:02 to go in the period.
- Towson scored seven of the final nine points in the quarter. A rebound and put-back basket from Cuevas with one second to play sent Towson into the half trailing by just one, 31-30.
- The two squads traded baskets early in the third quarter and Towson found itself down by just one, 41-40 with 5:38 to go in the stanza. Senior guard Raven Bankston had five points for the Tigers during that stretch while Rendle had five for William & Mary.
- The two teams continued to battle on each of the end floor over the final five and a half minutes of the period and Towson trailed by three, 47-44 at the end of the quarter.
- William & Mary opened the fourth quarter on a 12-5 run and led 59-49 with 5:17 left on the clock. Alexandra Masaquel had five points during that run that proved key for the Tribe in breaking open a close game.
- A Butler jumper cut the William & Mary lead to eight, 59-51 at 3:45. That proved to be as close as the Tigers could get the rest of the way.
- The Tribe lead fluctuated between 10 and 15 points over the final three minutes as William & Mary sealed the 66-58 win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- William & Mary shot 42 percent from the field while the Tigers shot 37.3 percent. The Tribe made seven three-pointers to Towson's two in the contest.
- Each team had eight steals in the game while the Tribe had nine blocks to the Tigers' four.
- Cuevas was one of three Tigers to score in double figures in the game. Bankston added 11 points while Martin had 10 points.
- Tremba led William & Mary with 17 points while Masaquel had eight points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
The Tigers return home to host Drexel on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
