CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston outscored the Towson University women's basketball team by 10 in the fourth quarter to come from behind and claim the 59-54 victory on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action. Senior guard
Raven Bankston posted her second straight 17-point game to lead the Tigers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars opened the game on an 8-2 run but Towson responded with seven straight points and took a 9-8 lead with 5:42 to go in the stanza. Bankston had a three-point play for the Tigers during that stretch.
- The two teams traded points as redshirt sophomore Maia Lee connected on a bucket with 10 seconds remaining in the stanza.
- The Cougars held a slim 12-11 edge after one period of play.
- Towson opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run and took an 18-12 lead with 6:12 to go. Freshman guard Etalyia Vogt drained a three-pointer for the Tigers during that stretch.
- The Cougars responded with an 8-0 run of its own and took a 20-18 edge with 1:26 left in the stanza.
- Towson scored the final five points of the period and took a 23-20 lead at the half. Bankston scored the game-tying basket and then went 1-for-2 from the foul line. After Bankston missed her second free throw, senior forward Brianna Bush grabbed the rebound and put the ball in the basket.
- The Tigers scored four of the first six points in the third quarter and took a 27-22 with 7:46 showing on the clock. Junior forward Mary Cuevas sunk a pair of free throws.
- The Cougars used an 8-0 run to take a 30-27 lead with 2:20 to go in the period. Brianna Boyd had three points for the College of Charleston during that stretch.
- Towson closed the quarter on a 12-4 run and took a 39-34 lead after three periods of play. Sophomore guard Sianni Martin drained a pair of three-pointers during that stretch.
- The Tigers scored nine of the first 11 points in the fourth quarter and led 48-36 with 6:30 to play. Bankston contributed four points during that stretch.
- Bri Sullivan hit a basket with 6:20 left on the clock which started a key closing stretch for the Cougars. College of Charleston scored 21 of the final 27 points and claimed the 59-54 come from behind victory. Breanna Bolden scored seven points for the Cougars during that stretch.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Free throw shooting played a key role in the game. The Cougars went 19-for-27 from the foul line while the Tigers were just 6-for-10.
- Both teams took advantage of their opponents' mistakes. Towson had 12 steals to the College of Charleston which had 11 swipes.
- Bankston contributed four assists and four steals to go with her 17 points.
- Martin contributed 11 points and six rebounds. Cuevas and junior center Daijha Thomas tied Martin for the team lead in rebounds.
- Bolden had 20 points and seven rebounds to lead the Cougars in the game while Boyd had 17 points and 13 rebounds.
- Towson dominated the points in the paint with 32 points to the Cougars' 14.
The Tigers return home to host UNCW on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. It will be the Tigers' "Think Pink" game as the Tigers honor breast cancer survivors and their families.
