Women's Tennis Hosts CAA Rival College of Charleston

TOWSON, Md. – After a pair of road matches, the Towson University women's tennis team returns home to the Towson Center Courts to host Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival College of Charleston on Saturday, March 25.
 
Match Details
The match between the Tigers and Cougars is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with doubles play, followed by singles play. Fans attending the meet are limited to park in Lots 13 and 14.
 
Updating the Tigers
Towson (6-5) is looking to rebound after a pair of road losses during its spring break trip in Florida earlier this week. The Tigers fell 7-0 at No. 24 Florida International University on Monday and 6-1 at Florida Atlantic University on Wednesday.
 
The Tigers have four players with 10 or more singles wins this season, led by Lucy Gloninger. She holds a 12-3 singles record, splitting dual play between the No. 4 (2-0) and No. 6 (4-1) flights.
 
Nicole Shakhnazarova enters Saturday's action with a 10-9 overall singles record, including a 7-4 mark at the top singles flight during dual play.
 
Towson's doubles play is led by A.J. Gomer and Renate van Oorschodt. The duo have combined for a 9-5 overall doubles record this season and are 6-3 at the top doubles spot in dual play.
 
Scouting the Cougars
The College of Charleston (12-5) had its seven-match win streak snapped on Thursday evening as Clemson earned a 4-0 win over the Cougars.
 
Mara Argyriou leads the Cougars in singles play with a 12-4 overall record. She splits dual play between the No. 2 (2-1) and No. 3 (10-3) flights and enters Saturday on a six-match win streak.
 
Liza Fieldsend holds a 9-7 record for the Cougars at the top singles flight in dual play.
 
Fieldsend and Rachel McNeely have combined for a team-best eight doubles wins this season in dual play. The pair has played the bulk of their doubles matches at the top flight, recording a 6-6 mark.
 
Up Next
Towson makes the short trip to in-state rival Morgan State on Tuesday, March 28. Towson then returns home for a four-match home stand which kicks off on Thursday, March 30 against Georgetown University.
