TAMPA, Fla. – The Towson University softball team lost to the University of South Florida, 9-3, in the Under Armour Invitational Saturday evening.
 
How It Happened

• Kendyl Scott and Brook Miko led Towson's offense with two hits each.
• Miko reached base three times as she also walked in the fifth inning.
• In addition to its 10 hits, Towson also drew four walks to keep consistent pressure on the USF pitching staff.
• After falling behind 4-0 after the first inning, the Tigers scored two runs in the fourth inning.
• Scott delivered a RBI single that scored Miko, who led off the inning with a single.
• Madison Wilson followed with a RBI groundout that scored Caroline Reid to bring Towson to within, 4-2.
• Reid also singled in the fourth inning.
• Daria Edwards had a RBI groundout in the sixth inning that scored Jaclyn Mounie, who led off with a pinch-hit bunt single.
• Edwards RBI came after USF scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to expand its lead to 9-2.
• Nicole Stockinger hit her team-leading sixth double in the fifth inning.

• Kendyl Scott produced her sixth multi-hit game of the season.
• This was Brook Miko's third multi-hit game this season.
• This was the eighth time Towson has had double digits in a game.
• Eight different Tigers had a hit.
• Towson had the leadoff hitter reach base in three innings.
