LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Towson University women's tennis team earned a 5-0 win over Bucknell on Tuesday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Tigers improved to 11-9 on the season with the victory, which snapped a two-match losing streak.
 
How it Happened

• Towson won the opening doubles point. Renate van Oorschodt and A.J. Gomer earned a 6-2 win over Lisa Jouravleva and Emilie Bush at the top spot. Lucy Williams and Yevgeniya Shusterman combined for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles against Danielle Gannon and Melissa Parks. The final third doubles match between Barbora Vasilkova and Lucy Gloninger and Mishi Papich and Jill Auteri was left unfinished, tied at 4-4.
• Lucy Williams posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lauren Fishbein at No. 2 singles.
• In the third singles flight, A.J. Gomer defeated Michele Urbinati 6-3, 6-2.
• Lucy Gloninger earned a 6-4, 6-3 win against Mishi Papich at No. 5 singles.
• At the sixth singles spot, Sophie Lesage bested Jill Auteri 6-2, 6-3.
• The match between Nicole Shakhnazarova and Lisa Jouravleva in the top singles flight went unfinished with Shakhanzarova down 6-3, 2-0.
• At No. 4 singles, Barbora Vasilkova's match against Paige Leavy went unfished. Vasilkova won the first set 6-2 and was up 4-3 in the second set when the match was halted.

Towson returns to the Towson Center Courts for a three-match home stand to close out the regular portion of the 2016-17 season. The Tigers host CAA rival Drexel on Friday at 1 p.m. and welcome Navy and Coppin State for a pair of matches on Saturday.
