TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team could not climb out of an early hole in dropping the series finale, 8-1, to  Elon Sunday afternoon at Schuerholz Park.
 
How it Happened

• Elon (18-19, 8-4 CAA) jumped out to the early lead as they collected five hits in the first inning and pushed across three runs.  Will Nance delivered the damage with a two-run single to center field.
• The Tigers (14-19, 3-6 CAA) got a run back in the second after A.J. Gallo singled through the right side on the first pitch of the inning.  After stealing second and moving to third on a wild pitch, Gallo scored on Logan Burke's two-out double into the right field corner.
• The Phoenix pushed across an unearned run in the fourth before getting a pair of RBI base hits from Ryne Ogren and Kyle Jackson in the sixth.
• Elon extended the lead to 8-1 in the seventh inning after Satterfield plated two runs with a double to right center.
• Michael Adams (2-4) took the loss after giving up six runs, five earned, on 11 hits over five innings.
• Kyle Brnovich (4-2) allowed just one run on six hits over eight innings to pick up the victory.
