Lowe Named Assistant Men's Swimming Coach
Â
TOWSON, Md. – Former Tiger
Matt Lowe has been named as an assistant coach of the Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving programs, head coach
Jake Shrum announced.
Â
"Matt has had an immediate impact on our both teams," said Shrum. "His personality fits in great with our athletes and the rest of our coaching staff. The same drive that enabled him to be, and continue to be, an internationally recognized swimmer carries over into his recruiting and on deck responsibilities. Matt has a great eye for the technical aspects of swimming and appreciates the application of those techniques under duress. We look forward to having him on staff!"

Lowe was a distance freestyle specialist during his time at Towson, while also competing in butterfly and individual medley events. During his senior year, he helped Towson to a second-place finish at the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Meet. As a sophomore, Lowe set a program best in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a split of 9:20.22, breaking a record previously set in 1983.
