TOWSON, Md. – Towson University gymnastics head coach
Vicki Chliszczyk May has been appointed to the NCAA Gymnastics Committee. Chliszczyk May will serve a term that started this September and runs through the 2021 season.
"I am honored to be chosen to represent and be a voice for our coaches association," said Chliszczyk May. "I look forward to working closely with the NCAA committee members to continue to move our sport forward."
As a member of the NCAA gymnastics committee she helps to sustain and advance the Association's mission, traditions, values and reputation. Chliszczyk May will regularly participate in committee meetings and conference calls. She will support the consensus of the committee and will serve as an advocate for the Association.
Chliszczyk May also serves as the Southeast Regional score verification coordinator for the NCAA.
She will enter her eighth season as the Towson head coach this winter. Last year she was named NACGC/W Southeast Regional Head Coach of the Year. It was the first time in her coaching career that she has received the honor. She became the second Tiger head coach in program history to receive the honor.
Dick Filbert was named NCAA Southeast Regional Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1988.
Chliszczyk May guided three Tigers to an appearance at the NCAA Gainesville Regional Meet last year.

Mary Elle Arduino took part in the beam competition. It marked the third straight year that Chliszczyk-May had student-athletes compete in one of the NCAA Regional Meets.
