TOWSON, Md. – Sarah Locke,
Emily Wilson,
Meghan Jones,
Jacki Schoening and
Maddi Mangum were event winners for the Towson University women's swimming and diving team during its season-opening meet against Georgetown and James Madison at Burdick Hall Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers defeated Georgetown 199-100 and fell to James Madison 158-142.
Schoening led the Tigers by winning the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events.
How it happened
- Schoening was a member of the 200 yard medley relay team that finished second. She teamed with Haley Sutton, Ryan Ulrich and Annemarie Schnoor.
- Locke finished in first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:06.
- Jones won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:04 and was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
- Mangum was first in the 100-yard butterfly in 57.39.
- Wilson captured the 3-meter diving competition with a final score of 271.55.
- Amanda Rosa was second in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.
- Kalyn Fetter was third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Schnoor was second in the 200-yard freestyle.
Up Next for Towson
The Tigers will compete in the Navy Invitation in Annapolis, Md. on Friday, Oct. 19. The meet also featuring Johns Hopkins and William & Mary is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
