TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team continues its rapid rise in the national rankings, landing in the top-14 of both major polls.
The Tigers went up four spots in each national ranking this week, going to #13 in the STATS FCS Poll and #14 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll.
This is the fourth straight week where Towson is ranked in the STATS FCS Poll and third consecutive time placing in the coaches poll. Each week since being ranked, Towson has gone up in the polls.
Towson wrapped up its three-game homestand on Saturday with a 29-13 victory over conference foe William & Mary. The Tigers have won four straight to stand at 5-1 overall, including defeating all FCS opponents, and are tied for first place in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) at 3-0.
The CAA continues to have the most ranked programs in FCS, with seven being ranked in both polls. Towson is third-highest among the ranked teams.
