Tigers Fall to William & Mary on the Road

BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md. – Friday night's road game at William & Mary ended with a loss for the Towson University field hockey team. The Tigers fell 6-0 to the host Tribe and move to 1-10 on the season.
 
How it Happened
  • William & Mary got on the board early, 13 minutes into the game, and scored its second goal seven minutes later.
  • The home team continued to increase the deficit, taking a 3-0 advantage with 10 minutes remaining in the first period.
  • All three of the Tribe goalkeepers saw time tonight and as a group finished with one save, a shot by Katie McNeel off a penalty corner executed by Olivia Blasone. That was the Tigers' only shot of the night.
  • Entering the second period William & Mary scored again taking a 4-0 lead with no stopping in sight and tacked on two more goals before the final horn.
 
Behind the Numbers
  • Freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Peacock finished with 15 saves, one away from her season-best 16 earlier this year.
  • McNeel adds to her shots stat for the year with now 29.
  • William & Mary had 31 total shots, 11 different players took shots at the Towson net.
  • Woodard Hooper led the way for the Tribe with three goals, she had six total shots with five on goal.
  • Towson falls to 0-3 in conference play while William & Mary improves to 6-4 on the year and 3-0 in the CAA.
