SAN FRANCISCO – Former Towson University standout Ryan Delaire has returned to the professional ranks, joining the active roster of the San Francisco 49ers last weekend.
Delaire had been on the team's practice squad and was signed on the active roster for the team's home game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. He served as a defensive end in the game.
Delaire spent the preseason with the Indianapolis Colts, last playing in a regular season game with the Carolina Panthers in 2016. He joins fellow Towson alumni Jermon Bushrod of the New Orleans Saints and
Jordan Dangerfield of the Pittsburgh Steelers as Tigers on active NFL rosters.
Delaire graduated from Towson in 2015. An All-American as a senior, he had 64 tackles and 11 sacks in his final season.
