Durjan Scores 20 Points at Northeastern

BOSTON, Mass. – Danielle Durjan scored a game-high 20 points as the Towson University women's basketball team fell, 79-61, to Northeastern Friday night at the Cabot Center.

How it Happened
  • Both teams came out running in the first quarter as 14 of the 30 shots taken in the quarter were good.
  • Durjan knocked down a pair of three pointers to give the Tigers the early 13-8 advantage.
  • NU battled back to take a one-point lead after the first quarter, but not before Maia Lee came off the bench for four quick points.
  • As hot as both teams were in the opening stanza, the opposite could be said in the second.  The difference in the quarter was the three three-pointers made by the Huskies to take a 37-30 lead into the locker room.
  • Towson (9-16, 4-10 CAA) tried to make a run to start the second half, but the Huskies (13-12, 8-6 CAA) would answer back with a three pointer.
  • Senior Daijha Thomas tried to give the Tigers a spark as she entered the game and quickly scored four points off a pair of offensive rebounds.
  • Freshman Rayna Barbour got the start in the second half and scored two points on a driving left-handed layup.  She added a career-best four rebounds and two assists.
  • Durjan was one point off her career-best as she was 7-of-14 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
  • The Huskies used a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures, led by 17 points from Jess Genco.
