CHARLESTON, S.C. – Towson University scored a run in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run on third, but were unable to score the run in falling, 4-3, to The Citadel in the final game of a three-game series Saturday afternoon at Joe Riley Park. The Tigers won the first game of the doubleheader, 6-0.

- A fielding error on the first batter of the first inning led to two unearned runs for The Citadel.

How it Happened
- The Citadel jumped out to an early lead as the first batter of the game reached on a fielding error. With runners on second and third with two outs, Ben Peden drove in both runners with a single through the right side.
- The Tigers got their first hit in the fourth inning when Richie Palacios hit a mammoth solo shot off the top of the scoreboard in right center.
- Craig Alleyne joined the hit parade in the 5th when he led off the inning with a solo blast over the wall in left.
- The Bulldogs got the one run back in the home-half of the inning as a leadoff double came in to score on a William Kinney single up the middle.
- The Tigers did not go quietly in the seventh inning as Billy Lennox started the inning with a single and went to third on a Dirk Masters single down the left-field line. Masters was held at first when the ball hit the wall and jetted out to the left fielder.
- Alleyne continued to swing it well as he lined a ball to center to score Lennox on the sacrifice fly.
- Richard Miller singled to put runners at the corners, but the Tigers were unable to get the tying run in from third.
- Michael Adams (3-3) took the loss after he allowed four runs, two earned, on eight hits and four strikeouts over six innings.
- Jonathan Sabo (1-1) allowed three runs on five hits over six innings to earn the win.
- Jordan Buster (2) allowed a hit and fanned two in his one inning to earn the save.
