Palacios Ties Stolen Base Record in Loss

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University junior Richie Palacios tied the school record with his 69th career stolen base in the Tigers 15-8 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore Tuesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • The Hawks jumped out to an early lead as they scored two runs in each of the first two innings.
  • Towson came back in the fourth to score seven runs and take the lead. Palacios started the inning with a walk. He then tied the school record with a stolen base. He would later score on a wild pitch.
  • Richard Miller drove in the second run with a single to right field.
  • Craig Alleyne continued his hot streak as he plated two runs with a double over the head of the left fielder.
  • Drew Bossi drove in his first career run on a groundout.
  • After an error allowed a run to score, Andrew Cassard singled to right center to score the seventh run of the inning.
  • MDES got solo runs in the fifth and seventh innings to pull within one run.
  • The Tigers got one of the runs back in the eighth as Palacios singled and came around to score on a throwing error.
  • The wheels came off for the Tigers in the ninth inning as three errors helped the Hawks score nine runs and win the game.
  • Gavin Weyman (0-7) was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits and four strikeouts over two-plus innings.
  • Dwayne Marshall (1-4) allowed an unearned run on one hit over two innings to pick up the victory.
