ELON, N.C. – Elon scored six runs in the first two innings and the Towson University baseball team was not able to recover in falling, 16-4, to the Phoenix Saturday evening.

- The Phoenix got the scoring going early as they pushed across four runs in the first inning thanks to a bases-clearing double from Garrett Stonehouse.
- The Tigers got a run back in the second after Noah Cabrera singled to center and went to third on a failed pickoff attempt. Tristan Howerton followed with a single to right to score Cabrera.
- Elon answered back in the home-half of the second as a walk and a single came in to score on a two-run double from Ryne Ogren.
- Trailing 8-1 in the fifth, Richie Palacios walked and Mark Grunberg singled to start the inning. After both runners moved up on a groundout, Colin Gimblet scored Palacios with a sacrifice fly to center.
- Richard Miller followed with a single up the middle that scored Grunberg from second.
- Cabrera helped the Tigers score again in the sixth as he was hit by a pitch and scored from second on a Charlie Watters single to center.
- Elon put the game away in the seventh as they scored seven runs in the inning.
- Michael Adams (3-7) took the loss after giving up eight runs on six hits over four innings.
- George Kirby (9-2) allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits over five innings to pick up the victory.
