- The game started with back-to-back hits for the Patriots before a throwing error helped to score seven runs in the inning. Mason did collect five hits in the frame, including a two-run double from Tyler Nelin.
- The Patriots added two runs in the second on a two-run homer from Trevor Kelly.
- Towson finally got on the board in third as Cabrera singled through the left side and went to third on a Trey Martinez double over the head of the right fielder.
- A passed ball allowed Cabrera to score before Andrew Cassard drove in Martinez with a groundout.
- Mason added five runs in the fifth inning before the Tigers came back with their best offensive inning in the sixth.
- Richard Miller came off the bench to single up the middle and Dirk Masters followed with a base hit through the left side. Logan Burke loaded the bases with a single back through the box.
- Cabrera stepped to the plate and belted a 1-2 pitch deep over the fence in left center for his second home run of the season.
- Towson added three runs in the eighth after Mark Grunberg doubled just inside the bag at first and scored on a Burke single up the middle. Cabrera walked and Cassard reached on an error to load the bases with one out.
