Ewell Named to USILA North-South Game

PERRY, N.Y. -- After a solid two years on the defense for the Towson University men's lacrosse team, senior close defenseman Sid Ewell was named to the prestigious USILA/Nike North-South Senior All-Star game as a member of the South squad.

The 77th USILA/Nike North-South Senior All-Star game will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island this Friday. The Division I/II game is set for a 7:30 p.m. game following the Division III contest at 5 p.m.

Robert Morris head coach Drew McMinn will take the helm of the South squad. Travis Harrington (Bryant) and TIm Cox (Robert Morris) will serve as assistants for the South.

Ewell, who will wear number the number 14 for the All-Star game, played in 13 games for the Tigers this season, making 10 starts on a defensive unit that improved each week of the season. The Carlisle, Pennsylvania native caused eight turnovers in his final campaign with the Black and Gold. He collected 15 ground balls while playing at both close defense and taking runs as a longstick midfielder. Despite an aggressive playing style, Ewell was called for just three penalties for three minutes this season.
