Towson Defeats Drexel on Senior Day

TOWSON, MD. – Senior day was memorable for the Towson University women's swimming and diving team, which opened up the New Year with a 169-127 win over Drexel.

Junior Annemarie Schnoor led the way winning two events in the 50-yard freestyle (24.03) and the 100 yard freestyle (51.74).

How it Happened
  • Meagan Clark captured first place in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:41.99). Teammate Zeynep Balto finished in fourth (10:49.57).
  • Sarah-Margaret Locke was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.25. Suzannah Mills came in second (1:56.25) and Rachel Hoban was fourth (1:57.53).
  • Locke was also successful in the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.06). Clark came in third place (5:12.55).
  • Jacki Schoening saw first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.69). Amanda Rosa was fourth with a time of 1:06.42.
  • Schoening was also victorious in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.18) and teammate Rosa was fourth (2:26.28).
  • Megan Cowan came in first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.80). Teammates Maddi Mangum was third (2:06.60) and Lauren Cavanagh was fifth (2:10.09).
  • Mangum also saw a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (56.04) and Tara Goss came in fourth (59.48).
  • Emily Wilson had a score of 274.05 to finish in first in the 1-meter diving competition. Kelsey Jehl finished second (265.20).
  • Wilson also finished first in the 3-meter diving with a score of 292.43.
  • Cowan was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.00).
  • In the 200-yard medley, Meghan Jones, Rosa, Cowan and Schnoor finished in second (1:46.18).
  • In the same event, Haley Sutton, Schoening, Mangum and Ryan Ulrich finished in third (1:46.29).
  • Jones came in third in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.55), while teammates Sutton was fourth (58.65), Elise Devlin was fifth (1:00.47) and Alex Diacumakos was sixth (1:00.54).
 
Up Next
The Tigers travel to Newark on Jan. 19 to face Delaware. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
