TOWSON, Md. – The home opener for the Towson University gymnastics squad will take place Friday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. All home meets will take place inside SECU Arena. The Tigers will face Cornell, North Carolina State and William & Mary on Friday night.
Tigers Last Time Out
Towson competed in the Little Boston Invitational against #20 Penn State and Temple last weekend. Emerson Hurst won the beam title in her first collegiate debut as a Tiger with a 9.875. She also had a score of 9.600 on vault finishing in 11th and had a 9.125 on floor. Ally Wesoly scored 9.650 on vault and 9.675 on bars. Cortni Baker received a 9.800, tying for sixth place on floor. Mary Elle Arduino scored 9.735 on floor and received a 9.600 on bars.
Scouting the Big Red (0-4)
Cornell competed in the Colonial's Lindsey Ferris Invitational in their opening weekend. They placed fourth with a score of 190.750. Senior Lyanda Dudley's scored 9.750 on bars tying for third. Dudley was also the team's top beam performer on the day, taking 15th with a 9.575. She joined Claire Haklik (sixth, 9.825 on floor) as the lone top 10 individual finishers on the day for the Big Red.
Scouting the Wolfpack (1-1)
North Carolina State competed in two meets thus far this season and are coming off a season high of 194.925 against No. 15 Ohio State. They recorded 14 season highs this past Saturday.
Scouting the Tribe (0-0)
This is the opening weekend for William & Mary after earning a second place finish at Eastern Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships last year. Katie Waldman and Taylor White were qualifiers in the all-around competition at the 2018 NCAA Raleigh Regional.

Tiger Promotions
Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a coloring station and take photos with the gymnastics cutouts on the concourse. After the meet their will be a chance to get autographs by the Tigers. The meet is also themed the "Gold Rush," so for all fans wearing gold will receive the group discount of $5 for a ticket at the box office.
Tigers in the Community
• Towson is the Division I national champion of the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition for the Fall 2018 semester. Towson completed the most community service hours among all schools in the competition, including 75 different Division I departments and approximately 300 total programs across the country.
•The Tigers have been chaperones at a clinic in Pennsylvania as well as helping with the High Performance Clinic this pass Sunday inside the Towson Center.
•The Tigers also host a kid's night out each semester.
•Throughout the semester, the team will have local school visits to talk about goal setting.
