Gymnastics travel to William & Mary

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics squad will travel to Williamsburg, Va. to take on the Tribe of William & Mary.  The meet will take place Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. inside Kaplan Arena.

Tigers Last Time Out
Towson hosted their first home meet last Friday inside of SECU Arena. The Tigers scored 191.975 in a quad meet verses North Carolina State, Cornell and William & Mary.
 
Ally Wesoly had two second place finishes of the night, earning a score of 38.950 in the all-around and a 9.850 on the uneven parallel bars.
 
The Tigers had a 1-2 finish on the balance beam with Emerson Hurst and Mary Elle Arduino, respectively. Hurst had a score of 9.875 while Arduino had a score of 9.800. Cortni Baker tied for third place in the floor portion of the meet with a score of 9.825.
 
Scouting the Tribe
William & Mary finished its opening weekend at Towson with a score of 192.150. Freshman Samantha Sakti highlighted the Tribe's individual efforts in her collegiate debut by winning the floor title with a 9.925, which equaled a school record.
 
Sophomore Katie Waldman also performed well and placed third in all-around with a 38.700.

Tigers in the Community
•Towson is the Division I national champion of the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition for the Fall 2018 semester. Towson completed the most community service hours among all schools in the competition, including 75 different Division I departments and approximately 300 total programs across the country.
•The Tigers have been chaperones at a clinic in Pennsylvania as well as helping with the High Performance Clinic this pass Sunday inside the Towson Center.
•The Tigers also host a kid's night out each semester.
•Throughout the semester the team will have local school visit to talk about goal setting.

The Tigers are back home in SECU Arena on Feb. 3 to host West Chester University. The theme for the meet is "Own your Roar".
