TOWSON, Md. – With less than two weeks until the 2019 season begins, the Towson University women's lacrosse team was ranked No. 11 in the IWLCA Division I Coaches' Preseason Poll announced Monday.
 
At the end of the 2018 season the Tigers were ranked No. 9 in the poll. Reigning national champion James Madison comes in at No. 4 while Stony Brook (No. 5), Loyola (No. 9) and Penn (No. 10) round out the teams in the top-10 that Towson is scheduled to face this season.
 
Other ranked opponents include No. 12 Penn State, No. 13 Navy at, No. 22 Georgetown and No. 23 Johns Hopkins.
 
The Tigers have their first scrimmage this Saturday, Feb. 2 at Penn before opening the season on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Penn State.
