TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team got back to winning ways over the weekend and rose up multiple spots in both national polls.
Towson went up to No. 16 in the STATS FCS Top-25, rising two spots, and to No. 17 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll, jumping from No. 20 last week.
Towson has been in the top-20 all season long in each of the eight weeks of polls. The last time the Tigers were outside the top-20 in the national polls was on Oct. 1
st, 2018.
The Tigers earned a dominating win over Bucknell on Saturday, winning 56-7, the largest margin of victory in a contest since 2005, with
Tom Flacco earning Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week.
Towson heads to James Madison, No. 2 in each the STATS and AFCA polls, this week on Saturday, Oct. 26
th at 3:30 p.m. for a top-16 showdown in Harrisonburg.
Teams ranked in the top-25 in the CAA include Towson, James Madison, Villanova (#5 STATS, #6 AFCA) and Delaware (19/19).
