Lewisburg, Pa. – Personal records and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifying times highlighted the day for the Towson University women's indoor track and field team at the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell.
Inside Gerhard Field House on Saturday morning, the weight throwers opened the day by qualifying for ECAC's later in the season.
Emily Corso had a personal-record in the pole vault.
How it Happened
- Crystal Johnson finished in first in the 60-meter dash (7.52), while Shamika Burton not only set a personal-record but finished in second (7.60). Christina Marion had a personal-record time of 8:02.
- In the 200-meter dash, under section seven Burton finished in second with a time of 25.69.
- In the 300-meter dash, in the second heat Blaire Ridgely finished in first with a time of 42.75. Johnson also came in first in the third heat with a time of 41.15.
- Paige Keefer captured first in the 500-meter with a time of 1:18.16. Holly Edsall finished in third (1:19.17).
- Alison Betler saw a second-place finish in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:23.97.
- Kylie Anicic was second in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:18.72.
- Helnsarah Penda was victorious in the 60-meter hurdles (8:92).
- The 4X4 team made up of Siani Sellers, Shelby Francis, Alexandria Kitchell and Asia Chen came in second with a time of 3:59.66.
- Hayley Horvath came in third in the pole vault (3.65m, 11'11.75"ft). Emily Corso had a personal-record jumping 3.50m, 11'05.75"ft.
- Adia Cavalier jumped 11.90m, 39'00.50" ft. in the triple jump to finish in third.
- Michella Obijiaku came in second in the shot put (15.27m, 50'01.25"ft.) Lauren Coleman finished in third (14.74m, 48'04.50"ft.).
- Towson had the top four finishes in the weight throw with Obijiaku finishing in first (19.46m, 63'10.25"ft.) Coleman had a personal-record and second place finish (18.80m, 61'08.25"ft.). Georgia Coleman (16.70m, 54'09.50"ft.) and Julia LaPorta (16.21m, 53'02.25ft.) also set personal-records.
