How it Happened
- In a game that was tied three times and had no lead change, the Tigers still had a fight to win at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex Friday.
- Towson took an early lead on a bucket from Maia Lee and cruised to an eight-point lead with 2:18 to go in the first, but the Pride would come right back and end the quarter tied 10-10.
- In the first two minutes of the second quarter the Tigers took a two-point lead twice and Hofstra tied it up twice, forcing the road team to push harder on defense.
- Freshman Janeen Camp had a layup to extend the lead to four, entering a 7-0 run. With 3:33 left in the half, Towson led 30-18 and went to the locker room with a seven-point lead.
- In the first half the Tigers shot 66.7 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the free throw line.
- Towson maintained a decent advantage in the third period, reaching a peak of a 12-point lead on two separate occasions, the shortest lead was six points with 1:30 left in the quarter.
- Entering the fourth the Tigers led by eight and extended the lead to 10 on a layup from Q. Murray.
- At the 7:30 mark, Hofstra cut the lead to eight as the road team was ahead 55-47, but plenty of time left for the Pride to chip away.
- Kionna Jeter responded with a jumper taking the lead back to 10 before Sandra Karsten made a bucket in the paint cutting it to eight again.
- An eight point deficit was as close as Hofstra would get to closing the gap in the final minutes, as Towson reached its biggest lead of 16 points with 2:40 on the clock.
