TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team will spend spring break in sunny San Diego.
The Tigers will play three matches beginning with a pair against Concordia Irvine and Clemson on Tuesday at the Barnes Tennis Center. The Concordia Irvine match starts at 10 a.m. and the Clemson one is 2 p.m. Towson concludes its trip with a match against the University of Saint Katherine on Thursday at 11 a.m.
The Tigers (2-9) are coming off of a loss to James Madison last Friday. In singles action,
Amelia Lawson took her opponent to a seven-point game in both sets but was unable to turn and take a win. Towson had
Phoebe Collins and
Lucy Gloninger in doubles play hard.
Concordia Irvine has a 6-5 overall record and is a Division II that competes in the Pac West Conference. Members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Clemson enters the match with a 6-9 overall record. The University of Saint Katherine's has a 1-6 overall record and it is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).
Towson's next match when it returns home from San Diego will be on Wednesday, March 27 when it travels to Mount St. Mary's for a 3 p.m. start.
