TOWSON, Md. – Saturday afternoon the Towson University women's basketball team fell to Drexel in the regular season finale 77-44.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season with a 17-12 record, the most wins since the 2008-09 season and first season with a winning record since 2011-12. Towson will play as the four seed at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship next week, the highest seed the team has ever been since joining the league. This is also the best finish the Tigers have had since joining the CAA, previously finishing fifth in two different seasons.
Towson was led by junior

How it Happened
- The Dragons scored the first six points of the game and forced the Tigers to play catch up in the first period.
- Towson did just that, cutting the lead to two, before Drexel scored once more to take a four-point lead into the second.
- The home team held the Dragons to just nine points in the second quarter and scored 11, led by Ryan Holder with four points off the bench.
- The Tigers trailed by four with 7:57 left in the second before the road team extended the lead to nine. A three-point bucket from Nukiya Mayo and a layup from Holder cut the lead, as Towson caught up within two points entering the locker room.
- Drexel's defense took over in the third period and a series of fouls gave the road team free points. The Tigers scored just six points as the Dragons dropped 24, leading by 20 points at the end of the third.
- In the third quarter alone, Drexel scored 12 points from the charity stripe.
- Five points from Kionna Jeter were the most by any Towson player in the fourth quarter, as the Dragons extended their lead throughout.
