Tigers Take Down Georgetown

TOWSON, Md. – Two home runs by the Towson University softball team helped edge the Tigers to a 9-3 victory over Georgetown on Wednesday afternoon.

In the Tiger Softball Stadium Nicole Stockinger hit her 37th career home run while Breanna McDowell hit her first career home run to ignite the hits for the Tigers.

How it Happened
  • Georgetown took an early 1-0 lead after a single by Mae Forshey.
  • Stockinger begin the bottom of the second with her 12th home run of the season to put Towson back in the lead. Four more runs came in to give the Tigers an early 5-0 lead.
  • In the bottom of the third McDowell hit her first home run of the season, advancing Chloe Poulich which added two more runs and Towson was up 7-0.
  • The Hoyas added two runs in the top of the fifth after a single to third base by Savannah Jones got the bats hot.
  • Towson sealed the deal with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Melissa Abrahamian retired seven batters with strikeouts after pitching 5 innings for the Tigers.
Up next

Towson host a three-game series against conference opponent Charleston beginning Saturday, April 13. The first pitch is slated to begin at noon inside of the Tiger Softball Stadium.
