Towson, Md. –
Julia Smith-Harrington hit her fifth home run of the season as the Towson University fell 7-4 to Charleston on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars took the conference series 2-1 after today's contest.
How It Happened
- Charleston took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
- A single by Madison Wilson scored Nicole Stockinger in the bottom of the second to bring the Tigers within one.
- The Cougars added two more runs in the top of the third.
- In the bottom of the fourth back-to-back doubles got the bats hot for the Tigers. Smith-Harington lead off with a double, followed by Stockinger and later a double by Wilson brought Towson within one, 4-3.
- Charleston added three more runs in the top of the fifth including a homerun by Alondra Vicary and the Cougars went up 7-3.
- The Tigers tried but did not regain the lead after a homer by Smith-Harrington in the bottom of the fifth gave Towson one more run (7-4).
- Sara Johnson pitched 3 innings for the Tigers and had four strikeouts.

Towson is back at Tiger Softball Stadium on Wednesday, April 17 when they host Villanova in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
