TOWSON, Md. – Towson University softball team dropped a midweek game against Morgan State Wednesday afternoon in an 11 inning showdown.
The Tigers fell 13-6 inside Tiger Softball Stadium.
Riley Thies,
Nicole Kidwiler,
Julia Smith-Harrington and
Chloe Poulich each had two hits for the Tigers, while
Breanna McDowell,
Jessica Swistock and
Reyan Tuck had one hit a piece.
Kidwiler and Smith-Harrington each scored two runs for Towson while Thies had one.
How it Happened
- Towson took an early two-run lead in the bottom of the first inning after a Smith-Harrington double scored Kidwiler and a single to third base scored Smith-Harrington.
- The Bears had a triple in the top of the third to bring them within one. Then after a Bear single by Amy Pacheco, Meikel Turner scored tying the game at 2-2.
- Going into the bottom of the fifth the Tigers scored four runs on two outs giving Towson the lead 6-3.
- After Morgan State tied the game in the top if sixth, extra innings was in effect.
- The Bears scored seven runs in the 11th inning to win the game.
- On the mound Ashley Cruise pitched 6.1 innings and had five strikeouts.

Towson travels to Newark, Delaware to face Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponent Delaware in a weekend series April 6-7. On April 6 the doubleheader is slated to begin at noon with all games being played at the Delaware Softball Diamond.
