Men’s Lacrosse Named UNISWAG Uniform of the Year

TOWSON, Md. -- For a second time this postseason, the kit for the Towson University men's lacrosse team earned a national honor as the Tigers were awarded the UNISWAG Uniform of the Year.

This year's contender was the Tigers' throwback gold porthole mesh jerseys from Under Armour. The gold jerseys were paired with black 1990s-length shorts and Cascade S helmets with decals designed like the bucket helmets of yesteryear.

It makes the second time in the last three seasons the Tigers have won the honor, joining the black-jersey-over-white-shorts combo from the 2017 season. Early this summer, Towson won the IL Gear Swagger Bracket on Inside Lacrosse.

The throwback jerseys harken back to the late 1980s and early 1990s uniforms the Tigers wore under head coach Carl Runk, including the famed 1991 team that reached the national championship game.

This year's UNISWAG Uniform of the Year contest was tight as the Tigers outlasted Utah in second place, followed by Navy, Syracuse and Maryland.
