Chenoweth Selected to IWLCA All-American Third Team

TOWSON, Md. – Sami Chenoweth of the Towson University women's lacrosse team has been named a Division I All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
 
Announced Wednesday afternoon, Chenoweth is on the IWLCA's All-American Third Team. This is her fourth post-season honor after being named to the All-ECAC First Team at the end of May. The junior was also selected to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, All-CAA First Team and the CAA All-Tournament Team.
 
In the 2019 season, Chenoweth broke the Colonial Athletic Association's single season caused turnover record as she finished with 64. The Manchester, Maryland native led the nation in caused turnovers per game with 3.76.
 
Chenoweth started all 17 games and led the Tigers and conference in caused turnovers, was second on the team in ground balls with 40 and won 10 draw controls. Against Penn State in the season opener she had a career-high eight caused turnovers. On April 29 she was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week after finishing the regular season with 63 caused turnovers, atop the national statistics.
 
Prior to the season beginning, the defender was selected as an Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Honorable Mention and was named to the All-CAA Preseason Team.
