TOWSON, Md. -- It seems that former Towson University men's lacrosse standouts still have a flair for the dramatic. With just one former Tiger in action in the professional ranks this weekend, Ryan Drenner made it count in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL).
Ryan Drenner (Whipsnakes, PLL)
It was another dramatic win for Whipsnakes LC at SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago for the third week of the PLL. The Whipsnakes remained unbeaten at 3-0 with a third-straight overtime thriller after knocking off Archers LC 11-10. Drenner posted four points on three goals, his first hat trick with the Whipsnakes, including a two-point bomb. The 2017 Towson graduate scored the game-tying goal with 73 seconds left in regulation. Drenner later cashed in the overtime winner for a second-straight week after the Whipsnakes' ride broke up an Archers clear. Drenner faked around the Archer netminder for an empty-net winner.
Up Next for Drenner: It will be a homecoming this weekend for Drenner as the PLL heads to Baltimore for a weekend at historic Homewood Field. The Whipsnakes take on Atlas LC at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday
