PHOENIX, Md. – On Monday, Rob Ambrose and Towson University football helped support the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation at the Drive for Life Classic at the Eagle's Nest Country Club.
 
Talley, head coach at Villanova from 1985 to 2016, began this non-profit foundation in 2010, reaching out in the college football community and many others to get more people on the bone marrow registry.
 
The Drive for Life Classic in Baltimore had its 3^rd annual event on Monday, in collaboration with the AspireWealth Planners.  19 foursomes had a round of golf at Eagle's Nest plus participated in a silent auction, raising money for the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation.  All 18 holes had information about the foundation and bone marrow transplants.
 
Coach Ambrose helped set up the event in Phoenix, Maryland and gave speeches to the attendees.
 
"We are very much indebted to AspireWealth and Coach Ambrose from Towson to participate with me and my foundation as we go together to save lives," said Talley. "We hope from this tournament that we'll be able to use the funds that are generated to put more people on the bone marrow donor registry."
 
"This cause, this event, this charity, is a life-changer," said Ambrose. "It changes lives of the people we touch with the work that we do.  If you've ever had an opportunity to be involved with one person saving another person's life, and you had any part to play in that, that is a life worth living."
 
The Get in the Game initiative, a partnership between Coach Talley and the Be The Match® organization, has helped put over 100,000 people on the bone marrow donor list, leading to over 500 transplants.  More than 90 college football programs have participated in the initiative, which will grow to 136 by the end of the year.
